In this new post we will talk about the pros and the cons of legalize firearms among the U.S.

"22% of Americans own one or more guns (35% of men and 12% of women)" https://gun-control.procon.org.

- People who support the idea of owning a firearm feel more secure and claim that it will help them in case of an attack. They also declare that it is part of their freedom.
- Other anti-guns people think that firearms should be more restricted, prohibited, or even ban. They believe that the more firearms there are, the more people will be killed.

The Origin

Hello everyone!

I will be very wide in this post since it is the first one. So let's begin with an introduction of this new topic: weapons among the United States. When, where, why, and how they have been introduced in the country.

According to Bob Smith (Senator), the first firearms probably came from Europe in 1607. They have been brought in America by explorers for "their protection, for hunting and to demonstrate techno-superiority" according to the article "The First Gun in America" (https://www.npr.org/2013/04/06/176132730/the-first-gun-in-america).

In fact, we can say that firearms have for main purposes to protect and to hunt. Without forget that they are widely used in wars, robberies, and other violent attacks. They also generate a considerable economy among the U.S with more than $51 billion in 2016 ("Firearms Industry Economic Impact Rises 168% since 2008" (https://www.nssf.org/firearms-industry-economic-impact-rises-168-since-2008-2-2/).
